Effect of the transurethral resectin of prostate combined with stone gravel and clearance system in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia complicated with bladder calculi

    • Objective:To study the clinical application value of transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP) combined with stone gravel and clearance system in the treatment of benign prostate hyperplasia(BPH) complicated with bladder calculi. Methods:The gravel time, TURP time, operation time, postoperative ambulation time, stone-free rate, intraoperative and postoperative complications, postoperative international prostate symptom score(IPSS) and quality of life(QOL) score in 82 BPH complicated with bladder calculi patients treated with TURP combined with stone gravel and clearance system were analyzed. Results:The operations in 82 patients were successfully completed. The gravel time, TURP time, total operation time and postoperative ambulation time in 82 cases were(22.7±13.6)minutes, (55.3±20.6)minutes, (87.2±21.5) minutes and(4.3±1.5)days, respectively. The postoperative bladder calculi stone-free rate was 100%.No transurethral resection syndrome, obturator nerve reflex, bladder perforation and massive haemorrhage leading to open surgery were found. The postoperative IPSS and QOL score were significantly lower than those in before operation(P<0.01).Conclusions:The treatment of BPH complicated with bladder calculi with TURP combined with stone gravel and clearance system is sfe and effective.
