The clinical significance of metadherin expression in ovarian cancer

Objective:To explore the clinical significance of metadherin(MTDH) expression in ovarian cancer.Methods:The MTDH expression in 56 patients with ovarian cancer were detected using immunohistochemistry,the related pathological data was analyzed.Results:The expression positive rate of MTDH in 56 patients was 53.6%(30/56).The expression positive rate of MTDH in stage Ⅲ/Ⅳ patients was significantly higher than that in stage Ⅰ/Ⅱ patients(P<0.01),the expression positive rate of MTDH in patients with lymph node metastasis was significantly higher than that in patients without lymph node metastasis(P<0.05),and the differences of MTDH expression in different age,tumor histology,staging and ascites were not statistically significant(P >0.05).Conclusions:The MTDH expression in ovarian cancer is high,which may play an important role in growth and development of tumor,and can guide the treatment and predict prognosis.
