Effect of the compound glycyrrhizin combined with minoxidil and desonide in the treatment of alopecia areata

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of compound glycyrrhizin combined with minoxidil and desonide in the treatment of alopecia areata.Methods:Eighty-five patients with alopecia areata were randomly divided into the observation group(45 cases) and control group(40 cases).All patients were treated with minoxidil liniment combined with desonide cream by external use,twice a day.The observation group were additionally treated with compound glycyrrhizin by oral.The treatment course was 3 months,the clinical efficacy was evaluated after treatment.Results:The effective rate in observation group(88.89%) was significantly better than those in control group(67.5%)(P<0.01).Conclusions:The treatment of alopecia areata with compound glycyrrhizin combined with minoxidil liniment and desonide cream is safe and effective,which is worthy of clinical popular application.
