The level analysis of serum VEGF, OPN and tumor markers in patients with different outcomes after TAICE

    • Objective:To analyze the serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),osteoprotegerin(OPN) and tumor markers in patients with different outcomes after transcatheter arterial immune chemoembolization(TAICE),and its significance in evaluating postoperative effects. Methods:The clinical efficacy, and the levels of VEGF,OPN and tumor marker in 41 patients with moderate or advanced liver cancer were evaluated after TAICE.Results:The complete remission(CR) in 4 cases(9.8%),partial remission(PR) in 31 cases (75.6%),SD in 4 cases(9.8%) and PD in 2 cases(4.9%) were identified after operation, the total effective rate was 85.4%.The levels of OPN and VEGF in PR patients were significantly higher than those in CR patients(P<0.01).Compared with the CR and PR patients, the levels of OPN and VEGF in SD patients increased significantly(P<0.01).Compared with the CR,PR and SD patients, the levels of OPN and VEGF in PD patients increased significantly(P<0.01).Compared with the CR patients, the levels of AFP,CEA and AFU in PR patients increased significantly(P<0.05 to P<0.01).Compared with the CR and PR patients, the levels of AFP and AFU in SD patients increased significantly(P<0.01).Compared with the CR patients, the level of CEA in SD patients increased significantly(P<0.05).Compared with the CR,PR and SD patients, the levels of AFP,CEA and AFU in PD patients increased significantly(P<0.01).Conclusions:The treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma with TAICE has better clinical effects. The VEGF and OPN involve in development of hepatocellular carcinoma, which are the important indicators in evaluating the clinical efficacy.
