The relationship between fluoride content and its felated factors and neonatal congenital heart diseases

    • Objective:To investigate the relationship between fluoride content and its related factors and neonatal congenital heart diseases(CHD) for finding the etiology of neonatal congenital heart diseases, and provide new idea in the prevention of neonatal congenital heart diseases. Methods:A case-control study of the 1:1 of case group and control group was designed. Each factor was analyzed using the single factor logistics regression model, the suspicious factor was analyzed using multivariate logistic regression, and the relationship between these factors and CHD was investigated. Results:The urine fluoride content in case group was significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.01),the septal defect and artery malformations were the majority type of neonatal CHD.The OR values of urine fluoride content, cooking and exposure to chemical during pregnancy were more than 1,and the OR value of drinking dairy products during pregnancy was less than 1,which were statistically significant(P<0.05 to P<0.01).Conclusions:The urine fluoride content, cooking and exposure to chemical during pregnancy are the risk factors of the occurrence of CHD.Drinking dairy product during pregnancy is protective factor of CHD.
