Abstract
Objective: To investigate the change of protein lysine acetylation in carcinoma tissue of the gallbladder and its clinical significance. Methods: Western blot analysis was used to determine the change of protein lysine acetylation in tissues of the gallbladders from 30 patients with carcinoma of the gallbladder and 20 patients with chronic cholecystitis. The quantitative results of some bands in western blot were analyzed. Results: The protein lysine acetylation was significantly increased in gallbladder cancer tissue, compared to the chronic cholecystitis. The quantitative analysis indicated that the significant increase of protein lysine acetylation took place in proteins with molecular weight (Mw) from 10 000 to 36 000.Conclusions: The protein lysine acetylation of gallbladder tissue could be examined by the highly sensitive and specific antibody against lysine acetylation.the lysine acetylation was evidently increased in gallbladder cancer protein, especially in a subset of proteins of Mw 10000 to 36 000.
