The effect of self-made Yoga intervention on the related-cancer fatigue and anxiety in breast cancer patients with chemotherapy

Abstract
Objective: To explore the effects of the self-made Yoga intervention on the related-cancer fatigue and anxiety in breast cancer patients with chemotherapy.Methods: Sixty breast cancer patients treated with modified radical mastectomy during the 6 courses of chemotherapy were divided into the intervention group and control group using Non-simultaneous grouping method(30 cases each group).The control group were nursed with conventional method,the intervention group were additionally nursed with self-made Yoga intervention based on the conventional method.The scores of the related-cancer fatigue and anxiety between two groups were evaluated using the Zung self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and cancer fatigue scale(CFS) at the start of the second chemotherapy and the end of the sixth chemotherapy.Results: At the start of the second chemotherapy,the differences of the CFS and SAS scores between two groups were not statistical significance(P > 0.05).At the end of the sixth chemotherapy,the decrease of CFS and SAS scores in the intervention group was significantly higher than that in control group(P < 0.01).Conclusions: The self-made Yoga intervention can effectively alleviate the related-cancer fatigue and improve anxiety in breast cancer patients with chemotherapy.
