Effect of continuous nursing intervention on the negative emotion and dyssomnia in elderly patients with stroke

Abstract
Objective: To explore the effects of continuous nursing intervention on the negative emotion and dyssomnia in elderly patients with stroke.Methods: One hundred and twelve elderly patients with stroke were randomly divided into the observation and control group(56 cases each group).The control group were nursed with routine intervention,and the observation group were nursed with continuous nursing intervention based on routine intervention.The scores of SAS and SDS before and after intervention,and the improvement of dyssomnia after intervention between two groups were compared.Results: The scores of SAS and SDS in observation group after intervention were significantly lower than before intervention and those in control group(P < 0.01).The decreasing degree of the score of PSQI in observation group after nursing intervention was significantly better than that in control group(P < 0.01).Conclusions: Continuous nursing intervention for elderly patients with stroke can effectively relieve the negative emotion and improve the sleep quality.
