Clinical analysis of galactic fistula after augmentation mammaplasty with polyacrylamide hydrogel injection

    • Objective: To sum the clinical experience of galactic fistula during suckling period after augmentation mammaplasty with polyacrylamide hydrogel injection. Methods: The clinical characteristics in 7 galactic fistula cases with injection augmentation mammoplasty were analyzed. The breast was sectioned at inframammary fold and rinsed, then the implant was cleared using special curette. The galactopoiesis was inhibited by the comprehensive therapy of negative pressure drainage of pressure gradual decreasing, drug combined with food after operation. Results: The surgical incisions in 7 patients healed after 12 to 20 days of operation. The injection residues were not found by the breast ultrasound examination after 1 to 8 months of operation, and the obvious reduction in 7 disease breasts were found after operation. Conclusions: The incision and drainage in time, removing implants and preventing galactopoiesis are the key of treatment. The breast feeding in female with augmentation mammaplasty history should be avoided after delivery.
