Effect of the intermittent gas injection combined with abdomen massage in the treatment of intussusception in 95 children

Objective: To evaluate the curative effects of the intermittent gas injection combined with abdominal massage after fixation of lower limb in the treatment of intussusception in children.Methods: The intussusception in 95 children were treated using JS-628 type computer remote control intussusception reduction instrument.Forty children from Dec.2011 to Oct.2012 and 55 children from Nov.2012 to Nov.2013 were divided into the group A and group B,respectively.The group A and group B were treated with the single gas enema and intermittent gas injection combined with abdominal massage after fixation of lower limb,respectively.Results: The success rate and reduction average time in group A and group B were 85.0% & 98.2%,and 15 min & 12 min,respectively.No enterobrosis in two groups were found.Conclusions: The intermittent gas injection combined with abdominal massage after fixation of lower limb can improve the success rate of reduction of intussusception,and decrease the reduction time.
