Clinical efficacy of cluster-based care model in patients with traumatic brain injury

    • Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of cluster-based care model in patients with traumatic brain injury. Methods: Ninety-six patients with traumatic brain injury were randomly divided into the control group and observation group according to the digital table method(48 cases each group). The control group and observation group were nursed using routine care and cluster-based care model, respectively. The related index, care satisfaction rate and complications between two groups were compared. Results: The hospital stay, ventilation and nasogastric time, and hospital expense in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.01),The incidences of diarrhea, food reflux, aspiration pneumonia and gastric retention in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05 to P<0.01).The nursing satisfaction rate in observation group(91.67%) was higher than that in control group(72.92%)(P<0.05).The ratios of good, medium and malnutrition nutrition condition in observation group were 60.42%,31.25% and 8.33%,respectively.The ratios of good, medium and malnutrition nutrition condition in control group were 43.75%,27.08% and 29.17%,respectively.The nutrition condition in observation group was better than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusions: The cluster-based care model can effectively promote the recovery, short the hospital stay, reduce the hospital expense, control complication, maintain the harmonious nurse-patient relationship and improve the nutritional status in nasal care patients, which is worthy of application in clinic.
