Correlation analysis of the serum uric acid level with hypertension among health examinees in a tertiary hospital of Hefei

Objective: To investigate the correlation of the serum uric acid level with hypertension among health examinees in a tertiary hospital of Hefei.Methods: The data of general information,physical examination and blood biochemical examination in 9 421 health examinees from a tertiary hospital of Hefei were investigated in 2011,which was statistically analyzed using the SPSS software(version 18.0).Results: The average level of serum uric acid in all subjects was (334.1±82.29)μmol/L,and the incidence rate of hyperuricemia was 15.6%.With the increasing of the serum uric acid level,the average level of systolic and diastolic blood pressure increased(P<0.01).The incidence rate in the cases(the serum uric acid level ≥388 μmol/L) was the highest,and the incidence rate of hypertension increased with the increasing of the serum uric acid level(P<0.01).By adjusting the gender,age,body mass index,blood sugar,HDL,LDL,TC,TG,BUN and Cre facors,the serum uric acid level was the independent influencing factor of hypertension.Compared with the patients(the serum uric acid level <276 μmol/L),the multiples of hypertension onset in 276~μmol/L,330~μmol/L and ≥388 μmol/L cases were 1.230,1.456 and 1.732,respectively.Conclusions: The serum uric acid level is closely related to the blood pressure level and hypertension prevalence.The serum uric acid level has important clinical significance in the prevention of hypertension.
