Hypoglycemic effect comparsion of liraglutide on obese and normal weight patients with type 2 diabetes

Objective: To investigate the hypoglycemic effects of liraglutide on obesity and normal weight patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods: Ninty patients with type 2 diabetes were divided into the obesity group(39 cases) and normal weight group(normal group,51 cases) according to the body mass index.Two groups were treated with liraglutide.The body mass change and glycemic control effect between two groups were compared after 3 months of treatment.Results: Compared before treatment,the body weight,body mass index,fasting blood glucose,postprandial 2 h blood glucose,C peptide and HbA1c in two groups were significantly improved after 3 months of treatment(P<0.01),and the improvement of all indicators in obese group were significantly better than those in normal group(P<0.01).Conclusions: The curative effect of liraglutide in obese group is more significant than that in normal group.The liraglutide can effectively control the blood glucose,and reduce body weight which is worthy of clinical use.
