Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effects of locking plate combined with bone cement in the treatment of femoral supracondylar fracture in elderly patients. Methods: Fifty-six elderly patients with femoral condyle fracture were divided into the control group and observation group(28 cases each group). The control group and observation group were treated with locking plate and locking plate combined with bone cement, respectively. The knee joint functions in two groups were evaluated using the Merchan grading standard after operation. Results: The excellent and good rate in control group(60.7%) was significantly lower than that in observation group(75.0%)(P<0.01).Conclusions: The treatment of femoral supracondylar fracture with locking plate combineded with bone cement in elderly patients is simple operation, reliable fixation and good function recovery of knee joint after operation.
