Abstract
Objective: To research the inhibition effects of brucea javanica oil on the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in U251 glioma cells. Methods: The human U251 glioma cell was cultivated in vitro, set control group and three drug groups(the final concentration of Brucea javanica oil emulsion is 5 g/L,2.5 g/L,1.25 g/L).The content of VEGF in the supernatant of culture cells was measured using ELISA,and the change of VEGF protein in U251 glioma cell was measured using the immunocytochemistry. Results: The VEGF level in the supernatant of culture cells showed that the significant decreasing of the VEGF level was identified with the increasing of drug concentration(P<0.01).The immunocytochemistry showed that the expression of VEGF protein decreased with the dose increasing of brucea javanica oil. Conclusions: Brucea javanica oil emulsion can inhibit the expression of VEGF protein in U251 glioma cells.
