Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effects of telbivudine and lamivudine in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B(CHB).Methods: Eighty-two CHB patients were randomly divided into the telbivudine group and lamivudine group(41 cases each group).Telbivudine group and lamivudine group were treated with telbivudine and lamivudine, respectively. The levels of HBV-DNA,HBeAg,AST and ALT in two groups between before and after treatment were compared. The rates of negative-inverted of HBV-DNA and HBeAg and recovery rates of AST and ALT in two groups were compared after 12,24 and 48 weeks of treatment, the safety of which was evaluated. Results: After 12,24 and 48 weeks of treatment, the levels of HBV-DNA,HBeAg,AST and ALT in two groups were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.01).After 48 weeks of treatment, the rate of negative-inverted of HBV-DNA in telbivudine group was higher than that in lamivudine group(P<0.05).After 24 and 48 weeks of treatment, the recovery rates of AST and ALT in telbivudine group were significantly higher than those in lamivudine group(P<0.05).Conclusions: The treatment of CHB patients with telbivudine is good effect and safety, which is worthy of clinical use.
