Protective effect of the activated nanocarbon on parathyroid in thyroid tumor patients treated with total thyroidectomy

    • Objective:To investigate the protective effects of the activated nanocarbon on parathyroid in thyroid tumor patients treated with total thyroidectomy. Methods:One hundred and two thyroid tumor patients were randomly divided into the observation group(52 cases) and control group(50 cases). The thyroid in observation group were firstly injected with nanocarbon suspension, and then the patients were treated with total thyroidectomy. The control group were treated with total thyroidectomy. The levels of serum parathyroid hormone(PTH) and calcium in two groups were detected after 3 days of surgery. The number of patients with normal, low PTH and low calcium between two groups were compared. Results:The number of patients with parathyroid disease in observation group was less than that in control group(P<0.05),the number of patients with temporary hypoparathyroidism after surgery in observation group was less than that in control group (P<0.05),and the recovery time of the temporary hypoparathyroidism in observation group was significantly less than that in control group(P<0.01).The decreasing rates of the levels of serum PTH and calcium in observation group after two hours of operation were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the average level of serum PTH,and the serum PTH level in patients with normal calcium and serum calcium decreasing in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.01).After treatment, the average level of serum calcium, and the serum calcium level in patients with serum PTH decreasing in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.01).Conclusions:The application of activated nanocarbon in thyroid tumor patients treated with total thyroidectomy can play a protective effect on parathyroid.
