The clinical study of three kinds of internal fixation methods in the treatment of the patellar transverse fracture

    • Objective:To compare the clinical effects of three kinds of internal fixation methods in the treatment of patellar transverse fracture. Methods:The clinical data of 56 patients with patellar transverse fractures were retrospectively analyzed.Sixteen cases were treated with the hollow compression screw(group A),18 cases were treated with Kirschner needle combined with steel wire tension band(group B) and 22 cases were treated with minimally invasive Cable-pin nail(group C).All cases were followed up for 6 to 18 months. The postoperative knee joint lowa score, operation time, postoperative fracture healing, operation cost and postoperative complications between three groups were compared. Results:The differences of the knee joint lowa scores between three groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The operation time and cost in group A and group C were significantly higher than those in group B(P<0.01).The fracture healing time and postoperative complications in group C were significantly less than those in group A and group B(P<0.01).Conclusions:The minimally invasive Cable-pin nail treatment is the least tissue irritation, short healing time and less postoperative complications, which is worthy of promotion in clinic.
