    Construction and practice of the diversified evaluation system in oral and maxillofacial surgery curriculum

    • Objective:To explore the construction and practice effects of the diversified evaluation system in oral and maxillofacial surgery curriculum.Methods:A total of 62 undergraduates in grade 2014 and 61 undergraduates in grade 2013 in Department of Stomatology from Bengbu Medical College were divided into the experimental group and control group,respectively.The experimental group and control group were evaluated using the diversified assessment evaluation system and traditional examination evaluation system,respectively.The examination scores and feedback from students by self-designed questionnaire were analyzed,and the implement effect between two evaluating model was compared.Results:The scores of final theory test,experiment skill test and total course in experimental group were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.01).The results of questionnaire showed that the students with "positive" opinion accounted for 88.7% to 95.2%,which was higher than that in the students with "indifferent" and "negative" opinion.Conclusions:The application of the diversified assessment evaluation system can improve the academic performance and overall quality of the undergraduates,which can play an important role in cultivating the oral and maxillofacial surgery talents with strong solid foundation of theory and clinical ability,high innovative spirit and practical competence.
