Effect of different ovarian stimulation programs on pregnancy rate and outcome in older infertile women

    • Objective: To analyze the effects of four kinds of ovarian stimulation programs on pregnancy rate and outcome in older infertile women. Methods: Four hundred and forty-eight older infertile women scheduled by in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer were selected.Following the principle of voluntary choice, the patients were divided into the micro-stimulation program group, short program group, antagonist program group and improved long-term porogram group according to the different ovulation stimulation programs. The embryological data, pregnancy rate and outcome between four groups were compared. Results: The using time and number of Gn,and dosage oocytes in improved long-term program group were more than those in short program group, and in antagonist program group were more than those in micro-stimulation program group(P<0.01).The excellent embryo rates in short program group and micro-stimulation program group were more than those in antagonist program group and improved long-term program group(P<0.05).The differences of the pregnancy rate, abortion rate and ectopic pregnancy rate between four groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusions: The micro-stimulation program can reduce drug use, shorten the time of harvesting high excellent embryo rate, but has not obvious advantages in pregnancy rate.Selecting ovarian stimulation program should refer to the concrete condition of patients in clinic.
