    Clinical analysis of the isolated sphenoid sinus disease in 12 cases

    • Objective: To analyze the clinical features of the isolated sphenoid sinus disease.Methods: Twelve patients were examined with sinus CT.One case was treated with drug,and 11 cases were treated with operation.Results: Seven cases with sphenoid sinus cyst,3 cases with sphenoiditis and 2 cases with fungal sphenoiditis were identified.The headache was the main clinical manifestation,and the nasal and ocular symptoms were also found.All patients were followed up for 0.5 to 2 years,and the clinical symptoms disappeared and no recurrence occured.Conclusions: The benign lesion is the main manifestation of isolated sphenoid sinus disease,its clinical manifestation is not typical,and headache is common.The treatment effect of the isolated sphenoid sinus disease with intranasal sphenoid sinusotomy combined with imaging examination is good.
