Abstract
Objective: To investigate the correlation between serum cystatin C(Cyst C) and glomerular filtration rate(GFR) in patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD),and explore the clinical value of serum Cyst C. Methods: The levels of serum Cyst C and creatinine(Scr) in 82 CKD patients were detected, the GFRInulin was detected by inulin clearance rate, and the GFRMDRD and GFRC-G were calculated using the simplified equations of MDRD and C-G.The GFRInulin was set as the standard value of GFR of CKD patients, the correlation between each parameter in different CKD stage patients was compared. Results: The level of Cyst C was negatively correlated with GFRInulin in CKD stage 1,2 and 3 patients(P<0.05 to P<0.01),and there was not obvious correlations between the level of Cyst C and GFRInulin in CKD stage 4 and 5 patients(P>0.05).There were correlations between the serum levels of Scr,GFRMDRD and GFRC-G,and GFRInulin in CKD stage 3 patients(P<0.01).In CKD stage 1 patients, the sensitivity and specificity of Cyst C were significantly higher than those of GFRMDRD and GFRC-G. Conclusions: The serum Cyst C can be acted as an index in evaluating GFR of CKD patients, and its clinical value is greater especially in early CKD.
