The value of MSCT post-processing technique in the diagnosis and preoperative evaluation of pancreatic carcinoma

    • Objective:To explore the value of MSCT post-processing technique in the diagnosis and preoperative evaluation of pancreatic cancer. Methods:The CT image and clinical data of 22 patients with pancreatic carcinoma were retrospectively analyzed. The infiltrating range of around organizational structure and distant metastasis of tumor based on tumor localization were observed using triple-phased scanning of contrast enhanced MSCT and post-processing technique. The preoperative assessment of 12 pancreatic cancer patients with major vascular invasion were compared with surgical outcome. Results:Among 22 cases, the peripheral vascular invasion in 19 cases, gastric and duodenal wall invasion in 4 cases, lymph node metastasis in 6 cases and hepatic or splenic metastasis in 11 cases were identified. The assessment accuracy in major vascular invasion was 88.9% by MSCT.Conclusions:The contrast enhanced MSCT combined with post-processing technique can accurately diagnose the pancreatic carcinoma, which can provide an important value in preoperative evaluation in clinic.
