Effect of the liver specific contrast enhancement on signal-to-noise ratio, T2 relaxation time and apparent diffusion coefficient value

    • Objective:To investigate the effects of the gadoxetate disodium on signal-to-noise ratio(CNR),T2 relaxation time and apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC).Methods:The CNR and T2 relaxation times and ADC value in the liver parenchyma, liver cancer and hemangioma between before and after injection of gadoxetate disodium were compared. Results:The difference of the CNR in the venous phase between liver cancer and hemangioma was not statistically significant(P>0.05),while the differences of the CNR in plain phase, arterial phase, equilibrium phase and hepatobiliary phase between liver cancer and hemangioma were statistically significant(P<0.05).The CNR in venous phase, arterial phase, equilibrium phase and hepatobiliary phase were significantly higher than that in plain phase(P<0.01),and the CNR in hepatobiliary phase was significantly higher than that in venous phase, arterial phase and equilibrium phase(P<0.01).The difference of the T2 relaxation times and ADC value were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusions:The scanning image acquisition of T2WI DWI and TSE sequence after the injection of contrast agent and scan does not affect the characteristics of the lesion, and can save the scan time, which can help to promote the wider application of gadoxetate disodium in clinic.
