Effect of simethicone combined with compound polyethylene glycol in preoperative bowel preparation of colonoscopy

Objective:To investigate the effects of simethicone combined with compound polyethylene glycol in preoperative bowel preparation of colonoscopy.Methods:One hundred and eighty-six patients scheduled by colonoscopy were divided into the observation group and control group according to the random number table(93 cases each group).The less residue semi-liquid food was used in two groups in preoperative 1 d,and the fasting breakfast and lunch in two groups were implemented at check day.Before operation,the control group was treated with compound polyethylene glycol,and the observation group was treated with dimethicone based on the control group.The intestinal cleaning,intestinal air bubble and adverse reactions between two groups were compared.Results:The excellent and good rate of intestinal cleaning in observation group(97.85%) was higher than that in control group(88.17%) (P<0.05).The excellent and good rate of intestinal air bubble in observation group(96.77%) was higher than that in control group(84.95%)(P<0.01).The incidence rates of abdominal pain,bloating,nausea and vomiting in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:The application of compound polyethylene glycol combined with simethicone in preoperative bowel preparation of colonoscopy has good cleaning effect,less adverse reaction,and is safe,which can help to remove the bubble of gut.
