    Study on the relationship between psychological health and mobile phone dependence among the “5+3” integration of clinical medical students in a university

    • Objective: To investigate the status of mobile phone dependence among the "5+3" integration of clinical medical students in a university,analyze the relationship between psychological health and mobile phone dependence in order to provide evidence for the intervention on mobile phone dependence.Methods: Eight hundred and twenty-one "5+3" integration of clinical medical students were investigated with the method of convenient sampling using the mobile phone dependent scale and self-rating anxiety scale,self-rating depression scale,self-rating loneliness scale and self-made questionnaire.Results: The moderate and high dependence rates of mobile phone in "5+3" integration of clinical medical students were 48.2% and 27.2%,respectively.Univariate analysis showed that the mobile phone dependence in female student was higher than that in male student(P<0.01).The mobile phone dependence was positively associated with the mobile phone use year,average monthly consumption,use time everyday and loneliness(C=0.13,0.18,0.20 and 0.13,P<0.05).The mobile phone dependence in the function of calling,watching TV and listening to music was less than that in other function(P<0.01),and the mobile phone dependence in the motivation of working and learning was lesser than that other motivation(P<0.01).The mobile phone dependences in students with falling in love,anxiety and depression were significantly higher than those without falling in love,anxiety and depression(P<0.01).The scores of anxiety and loneliness in different degree mobile phone dependence were high,moderate and low degree(P<0.01),and the score of depression in different degree mobile phone dependence was moderate,high and low degree(P<0.01).The multivariate regression analysis showed that women,falling in love,long time use of mobile phone everyday,average monthly high consumption,playing game in mobile phone,anxiety and loneliness were the independent risk factors of mobile phone dependence in students.Conclusions: The behavior of mobile phone dependence is common in the "5+3" integration of clinical medical students.Students with anxiety and loneliness are the key interventing population of mobile phone dependence,who should be paid more attention and concern.should be as focus groups and given high attention on intervention of mobile phone dependence.
