Application of 5A mode nursing intervention program in elderly with orthostatic hypotension

    • Objective:To explore the effects of "5A mode" nursing intervention program on elderly with orthostatic hypotension(OH).Methods:Forty-six elderly OH patients were randomly divided into the control group and intervention group(23 cases each group). The control group were nursed with the standard nursing process, and the intervention group were nursed with "5A mode" nursing intervention process. The awareness rate of OH,frequency of adverse symptoms and nursing satisfaction in two groups were evaluated before intervention and after 6 months of intervention. Results:Before intervention, the differences of the awareness rate of OH and frequency of 7-day adverse symptoms between two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05).After intervention, the awareness rates of OH in two groups were significantly higher than that before intervention, and which in intervention group was significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.01).After intervention, the frequency of adverse symptoms in two groups were significantly lower than that before intervention, and which in intervention group was significantly lower than that in control group(P<0.01).The score of nursing satisfaction in intervention group was significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:The 5A mode nursing intervention program can effectively improve the awareness rate of OH in elderly, reduce the frequency of adverse symptoms and increase the nursing satisfaction.
