Abstract
Objective:To observe the effects of Staphylococcus aureus L-form on the growth of human cervical cancer cells(HeLa) in vitro. Methods:The HeLa cells were infected with Staphylococcus aureus L-form by routine method. The adhesion and invasion of Staphylococcus aureus L-form were detected using light and electron microscopy, and the proliferation of HeLa cells was detected using improved MTT assay. Results:The results of light and electron microscopy L-form showed that the Staphylococcus aureus L-form could adhere and invade into HeLa cells. The result of improved MTT method showed that Staphylococcus aureus L-form could promote the proliferation of HeLa cells. Conclusions:Staphylococcus aureus L-form can infect and promote the growth of HeLa cells, which reveals that Staphylococcus aureus L-form may be one of inducting factor of cervical cancer.
