Effect of floating needle combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of floating needle combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder.Methods:A total of 40 patients with temporomandibular disorders were divided into the observation group and control group(20 cases each group).The control group was treated with the floating needle,and the observation group was treated with floating needle combined with traditional Chinese medicine.The clinical efficacy and karnofsky(KPS) score before and after treatment between two groups were compared.Results:The effective rate in observation group(90.0%) was significantly higher than that in control group(60.0%)(P<0.01).Before treatment,the difference of the KPS score between two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).After treatment,the KPS scores in two groups significantly increased,and which in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.01).Conclusions:The treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder with floating needle combined with traditional Chinese medicine can effectively improve the clinical efficacy and quality of life of patients,which has good clinical application value.
