The correlation analysis between carotid plaque nature and biochemical indicator in progressive stroke

    • Objective:To explore the carotid plaque integral, analyze the correlation between carotid plaque vulnerability and biochemical indicator in patients with progressive stroke for increasing the clinical knowledge of comprehensive intervention in carotid plaque. Methods:The integral and vulnerability of carotid plaques in 102 patients with progressive stroke were evaluated, and the correlations between carotid plaque vulnerability and biochemical indicators(fasting plasma glucose, total cholesterol,triglycerides,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, lipoprotein a,homocysteine,C reactive protein and fibrinogen) were analyzed. Results:Three hundred and one plaques in 102 patients with progressive stroke were detected, which included 257 vulnerable plaques(85.4%,257/301),and the mean integral of carotid plaques was(11.24±4.56)mm.There were positive correlations between the mean integral of carotid plaques, and fasting plasma glucose, low density lipoprotein, lipoprotein a,homocysteine,C reactive protein and fibrinogen(P<0.01),and there was negative relation between the mean integral of carotid plaques and high density lipoprotein(P<0.05).The lipoprotein a,homocysteine and C reactive protein were the independent risk factors of vulnerable plaques(P<0.05).Conclusions:The carotid plaques nature is closely related to biochemical indicator in patients with progressive stroke, and the lipoprotein a,homocysteine and C reactive protein are the independent risk factors of vulnerable plaques.
