The value of the basic insulin dose in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus with insulin pump

Objective:To investigate the relationship of blood glucose level and insulin dose in the treatment of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) with insulin pump.Methods:Total of 112 patients with T2DM were treated with insulin pump for 8 days.The levels of 8 times fingertip blood glucose every day,24 period base rate of insulin dosage,and large dose and total dose before three meals in all patients were analyzed using the linear correlation and multiple linear regression methods.Results:The levels of fasting and postprandial blood glucose were negatively correlated with the total amount of basal insulin.Conclusions:Basal insulin dose affects the levels of fasting and postprandial blood glucose,which is important in regulating the blood glucose.
