    Clinical study on the change of serum lipid level in patients with chronic periodontitis complicated with high blood lipid after treatment

    • Objective:To study the change of serum lipid level in patients with chronic periodontitis complicated with high blood lipid after treatment.Methods:Sixty-five patients with chronic periodontitis complicated with high blood lipid were divided into the observation group(32 cases) and control group(33 cases).The control group was treated with oral hygiene guidance combined with scaling and polishing gum,and the observation group was treated with scaling root surface,flattening root,and rinsing the mouth with 0.2% compound Gargle solution daily within 2 weeks based on the control group.Results:Compared with before operation,the bleeding at probing technique in control group after 2 and 6 months of operation decreased(P<0.05 to P<0.01),and the bleeding and depth of probing technique,and clinical adhesion distance significantly decreased in observation group after 2 and 6 months of operation(P<0.01).The levels of total cholesterol,triglyceride,high density lipoprotein and low density cholesterol in control group between before operation and after 2 and 6 months of operation were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Compared with before operation,the levels of triglyceride and high density lipoprotein in observation group decreased and increased after 2 and 6 months of operation,respectively(P<0.05 to P<0.01).Conclusions:The treatment of periodontitis can effectively reduce the level of triglyceride,increase the level of high density lipoprotein,and improve the symptoms of high blood lipid,which is worthy of popularization in clinic.
