The expression level of p33^ING1 in gastric cancer and its clinical significance

Objective: To detect the expression level of p33^ING1 in human gastric cancer tissue,and investigate the relationship between p33^ING1 level and clinicopathologic characteristics.Methods: The expression levels of p33^ING1 in 91 gastric cancer samples,30 normal gastric mucosa tissue samples and 35 atypical hyperplasia tissue samples were detected using immunohistochemical staining method.Results: The positive rate of p33^ING1 protein in gastric carcinoma tissue was higher than that in normal gastric tissue and atypical hyperplasia tissue(P<0.01).The differences of the p33^ING1 protein levels in gastric carcinoma tissue with different depth of invasion,grade of tumor,lymph node metastasis and Duke's stages were statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of Log-rank test of survival curves showed that the depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer were related to prognosis,and the expression level of p33^ING1 was not related to prognosis.Conclusions: The abnormal expression of p33^ING1 in the gastric tissue may be associated with the development of gastric cancer,which is expected to provide a new target for the treatment of gastric cancer.
