The expression level of p33ING1 in gastric cancer and its clinical significance

    • Objective: To detect the expression level of p33ING1 in human gastric cancer tissue, and investigate the relationship between p33ING1 level and clinicopathologic characteristics. Methods: The expression levels of p33ING1 in 91 gastric cancer samples,30 normal gastric mucosa tissue samples and 35 atypical hyperplasia tissue samples were detected using immunohistochemical staining method. Results: The positive rate of p33ING1 protein in gastric carcinoma tissue was higher than that in normal gastric tissue and atypical hyperplasia tissue(P<0.01).The differences of the p33ING1 protein levels in gastric carcinoma tissue with different depth of invasion, grade of tumor, lymph node metastasis and Duke's stages were statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of Log-rank test of survival curves showed that the depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer were related to prognosis, and the expression level of p33ING1 was not related to prognosis. Conclusions: The abnormal expression of p33ING1 in the gastric tissue may be associated with the development of gastric cancer, which is expected to provide a new target for the treatment of gastric cancer.
