Effect of acupoint acupuncture combined with bladder rehabilitation training on the prognosis of patients with spinal cord injury complicated with neurogenic bladder

    • Objective:To investigate the effects of acupoint acupuncture combined with bladder rehabilitation training on the prognosis of patients with spinal cord injury complicated with neurogenic bladder. Methods:One hundred and twenty-eight patients with spinal cord injury complicated with neurogenic bladder were randomly divided into the observation group(n=64) and control group(n=64).The control group was treated with clear intermittent catheterization combined with bladder function training guidance, and the observation group was additionally treated with acupoint acupuncture based on the control group. The intervention time was 8 weeks, and the bladder function recovery and quality of life between two groups were compared. Results:After intervention, the volume of bladder, frequency of voiding, residual urine volume and interval of catheterization in two groups were significantly better than those of before intervention(P<0.01),and which in observation group were significantly better than those in control group(P<0.01).Compared with before intervention, the latitude scores of physical, social, psychological and material function in two groups were significantly improved after intervention(P<0.01),and which in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group after intervention(P<0.01).Conclusions:Acupoint acupuncture combined with bladder rehabilitation training can effectively improve the bladder function and quality of life in patients with spinal cord injury complicated with neurogenic bladder.
