Clinical effect of acupuncture combined with kerotherapy in the treatment of vertebral artery type cervical spondylopathy

    • Objective: To explore the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with kerotherapy in the treatment of vertebral artery type cervical spondylopathy(VACS).Methods: Sixty patients with VACS were randomly divided into the observation group and control group(30 cases each group). The control group and observation group were treated with acupuncture and kerotherapy combined with acupuncture, respectively. The clinical efficacy and TCM syndrome score in two groups were observed after 2 courses of treatment. Results: After two courses of treatment, the cure rate in observation group(30.0%) was significantly higher than that in control group(6.7%)(P<0.01),and the TCM syndrome score in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.01).Conclusions: Kerotherapy combined with acupuncture in treating VACS has good effect, which can relieve the pain of patients, and is superior to acupuncture treatment.
