Expression of BRMS1 mRNA in colorectal carcinoma and its clinical significance

Objective: To investigate the expression level of breast cancer metastasis suppressor 1(BRMS1) mRNA in colorectal carcinoma,and its clinical significance.Methods: The expression of BRMS1 mRNA in 40 colorectal carcinoma tissue specimens and 20 normal colorectum tissue specimens were detected using RT-PCR method,and the correlation of which with clinicopathologic features was analyzed.Results: The expression level of BRMS1 mRNA in colorectal carcinoma tissue(0.420±0.133)was lower than that in normal colorectum tissue(0.836±0.102) (P<0.01).The expression level of BRMS1 mRNA in colorectal carcinoma was not associated with age,sex,degree of differentiation and infiltrative depth(P>0.05),and was associated with lymph node metastasis(P<0.01).Conclusions: The expression level of BRMS1 mRNA in colorectal carcinoma tissue is low,which may be related to the lymph node metastasis of colorectal carcinoma.
