    The research about the relationship between negative emotion and interpersonal trust in medical students

    • Objective: To analyze the characteristics and present situation of positive emotion,negative emotion and interpersonal trust in medical students,and their relationships.Methods: Three hundred and eighty-eight medical students from a medical college in Anhui province were selected using a stratified cluster sampling method,and the students were investigated using the "Interpersonal Trust Scale (IT)" and "positive and negative emotion scale" (PANAS).Results: There was no statistical significance in the scores of interpersonal trust and positive emotion between male students and female students(P>0.05),and the score of negative emotion in male student was higher than that in female student(P<0.05).The total scores of the interpersonal trust and positive emotion in students with falling in love were higher than those in students without falling in love,the difference of the score of the negative emotion between students with and without falling in love was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The difference of the academic performance in students with different scores of interpersonal trust and positive emotion was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The score of negative emotion in general,poor and very poor academic performance students(P<0.05 to P<0.01),and the differences of the scores of negative emotion between general,poor and very poor academic performance were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The total score of interpersonal trust was positively related to the score of positive emotion(P<0.01),and negatively related to the score of negative emotion in medical students(P<0.01).Conclusions: Enhancing interpersonal trust can promote the expression of positive emotion,and reduce the expression of negative emotion in medical students.
