Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effects of enteral nutrition on preventing gastroparesis syndrome after pancreatoduodenectomy. Methods: Among 1 847 patients treated with pancreatoduodenectomy,917 cases were treated with total parenteral nutrition, and 930 cases were treated with parenteral nutrition combined with enteral nutrition. The incidence rate of postoperative gastroparesis syndrome and recovery time between two groups were compared. Results: The incidence rates of gastroparesis in total parenteral nutrition group(4.4%) were significantly higher than that in parenteral nutrition combined with enteral nutrition group(1.6%)(P<0.01).The recovery time of gastroparesis in total parenteral nutrition group(24.2±4.5)d were significantly longer than that in parenteral nutrition combined with enteral nutrition group(9.6±3.3)d(P<0.01).Conclusions: The postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery of parenteral nutrition combined with enteral nutrition in the treatment of gastroparesis is better than that of parenteral nutrition.
