Application value of anti-mullerian hormone in the evaluation of ovarian reserve function

    • Objective: To investigate the application value of anti-mullerian hormone(AMH) in the evaluation of ovarian reserve function. Methods: One hundred and fifty-seven patients with infertility were investigated.According to the antral follicle count(AFC) detected by transvaginal ultrasonography on the third day of menstruation, the patients were divided into the observation group(AFC<5) and control group(AFC ≥ 5).The serum levels of AMH and reproductive hormone in two groups were measured using Cobas e411 automatic electrochemical luminescence immunoanalyzer, the result of which was compared. Results: There were statistical significance's in the levels of AMH,luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone FSH and estradiol(E2) between two groups(P<0.01).There was no statistical significance in the levels of testosterone between two groups(P>0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the AMH level was positively correlated with the levels of AFC and E2,and negatively correlated with the patient's age and FSH level. Conclusions: The serum AMH level combined with AFC and basic reproductive hormone levels can predict and evaluate the ovarian reserve function. The change of AMH level is earlier than that of basic reproductive hormone level, which can more early and more accurately predict the change of ovarian reserve capacity.
