Expression of CXCL13 in triple-negative breast cancer and its correlation with clinical pathology and prognosis

    • Objective:To explore the expression of CXCL13 in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC),and its correlation with clinical pathology and prognosis. Methods:The expression levels of CXCL13 in 73 TNBC tissue samples and 24 paracancerous normal breast tissue samples were detected using immunohistochemical staining, and the correlation of the CXCL13 expression levels with clinical pathology and prognosis was analyzed. Results:The expression level of CXCL13 in TNBC tissue was higher than that in paracancerous normal breast tissue(P<0.01),the differences of the CXCL13 expression in different node metastasis and clinical stages were statistically significant(P<0.05 to P<0.01),the CXCL13 expression in patients with node metastasis was significantly higher than that in patients without node metastasis(P<0.01),and the CXCL13 expression level in stage Ⅰ/Ⅱ patients was significantly lower than that in stage Ⅲ patients(P<0.05).The differences of CXCL13 expression levels in different age, tumor size, menopausal status and differentiation degree of tumor were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The five-year survival rate in patients with high CXCL13 expression(49.1%) was lower than that in patients with low CXCL13 expression(82.9%)(χ2=6.49,P<0.05).Conclusions:The CXCL13 expression is related to the progress of TNBC,and CXCL13 may be an independent prognosis factor for TNBC.
