    Analysis of the relationship between the expression of angiogenesis inhibitor 1 in tumor vessel and endoscopic manifestations

    • Objective:To investigate the relationship between the expression of angiogenesis inhibitor 1(VASH1) and endoscopic manifestations in esophageal carcinoma.Methods:The expression levels of VASH1 in 120 paraffin embedded esophageal carcinoma samples and 50 normal esophageal tissues samples were detected using immunohistochemical SP method.The expression difference of VASH1 between esophageal carcinoma and normal esophageal tissue was analyzed.The expression levels of VASH1 in different IPCL types,and relationship between VASH1 expression and MVD in different differentiation tumors were analyzed.Results:The positive expression rates of VASH1 and VEGF in esophageal carcinoma were 54.17%(65/120) and 59.17%(71/120),respectively,and the positive expression rates of VASH1 and VEGF in normal VASH1 tissue were 8.0%(4/50) and 16.0%(8/50),respectively.The positive rates of VASH1 and VEGF in esophageal carcinoma were significantly higher than those in normal esophageal tissue(P<0.01).The expression level of VEGF was positively correlated with the expression of VASH1 in esophageal carcinoma,and the expression levels of VEGF and VASH1,depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis were the independent risk factors in influencing the prognosis of esophageal carcinoma(P<0.05 to P<0.01).The percentages of IPCL-Ⅴ and IPCL-Ⅳ were 54.79% and 56.82%,respectively,and the difference of which was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The differences of MVD value among the patients with negative,low and high VASH1 expressions were statistically significant(P<0.01).With the increasing of VASH1 expression level of patients,the MVD value increased,and the VASH1 expression was positively correlated with microvessel density(P<0.01).Conclusions:VASH1 may be closely related to the development of esophageal carcinoma and tumor cell formation,which has certain significance in predicting the prognosis of esophageal carcinoma.
