Abstract
Objective:To understand the correlations among the loneliness,social support and quality of life in community elderly.Methods:The elderly over 60 years old in Bengbu community were investigated using the SF-12 quality of life scale,UCLA loneliness scale and social support scale.Results:The actual scores of social support in community elderly ranged from 16 to 53 points,and the average score of which was(33.6±7.9).The loneliness score of the elderly was(43.53±3.776).The highest and lowest dimensions of the quality of life scores were physiological function and bodily pain,respectively.The correlation coefficient among three was from -0.332 to 0.126(P<0.05 to P<0.01).The social support played a part of the mediate function between loneliness and quality of life in elderly.Conclusions:To promote the quality of life,we should not only pay attention to the loneliness,but also pay attention to the social support status of the community elderly.Taking long-term measure to improve the social support level is an important way to improve the quality of life of the elderly.
