Study on the effect of Xuebijing on the early intervention of acute closed liver injury induced by underwater explosion

    • ObjectiveTo explore the effects of Xuebijing on the early intervention of acute closed liver injury induced by underwater explosion.
MethodsFifteen healthy New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into the control group, injury group and intervention group(treated with Xuebijing), and the acute closed hepatic injury in three groups was established by underwater explosion. The serum levels of ALT, IL-6 and MMP-9 in three groups after 0, 4, 12 and 24 h of explosion were detected using enzyme-linked immunoassay.
ResultsThe differences of the ALT levels among three groups after 4 h of explosion were statistically significant(P < 0.05), and the level of ALT in injury group was higher than that in control group(P < 0.05).The differences of the IL-6 levels among three groups after 12 h of explosion were statistically significant(P < 0.01), and the level of IL-6 in injury group was higher than that in control group and intervention group(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).The differences of the MMP-9 levels among three groups after 24 h of explosion were statistically significant(P < 0.05), and the level of MMP-9 in injury group was higher than that in control group and intervention group(P < 0.05).The differences of the MMP-9 levels in injury group between after 4 h and 12 h, 24 h of explosion were statistically significant(P < 0.05), and the difference of the MMP-9 level in intervention group between after 4 h and 12 h of explosion was statistically significant(P < 0.05).
ConclusionsXuebijing plays a protective effect on the acute closed liver injury caused by underwater explosion in rabbits.
