Plasma expression levels of soluble receptor for advanced glycation end product and pulmonary surfactant protein A in newborn with acute respiratory distress syndrome

    • ObjectiveTo observe the plasma expression levels of soluble receptor for advanced glycation end product(sRAGE)and pulmonary surfactant protein A(SP-A) in newborn with acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS).
MethodsThe plasma samples of 37 newborns with ARDS from October 2015 to May 2017 were collected after 0 h, 24 h and 72 h of admission, and the plasma samples of 20 newborns without respiratory disease at three time-points were set as the control group at the same time. The plasma levels in two groups were detected using the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, and the result of which was statistically analyzed.
ResultsThe plasma levels of sRAGE and SP-A in ARDS newborns on admission were significantly higher than those in control group(P < 0.01), and the differences of the plasma levels of sRAGE and SP-A between two groups were statistically significant after 24 h and 72 h of admission(P < 0.01).The differences of the plasma levels of sRAGE and SP-A in control group among three time-points were not statistically significant(P>0.05).
ConclusionsThe plasma levels of sRAGE and SP-A in newborn with ARDS are high, which may be related to the initial condition of disease.
