ObjectiveTo explore the effect of ability-oriented teaching reform in epidemiology course for clinical medicine specialty.
MethodsThe main problems in the teaching of epidemiology were analyzed through the data of the National Qualification Examination for Licensed Doctors from 2013 to 2016 and the questionnaire survey of employers.One hundred and ninety-six and 201 students from two large classes of 2016 clinical medicine specialty were randomly divided into experimental class of teaching reform and control class of traditional teaching.Based on the revised teaching plan, the ability-oriented teaching reform was carried out in the experimental class.The teaching effect was analyzed between the two classes.
ResultsAt the end of the final examination, the scores of epidemiological methods selection, problem analysis ability and epidemiological investigation design ability in the experimental class were obviously better than those in the control class(P < 0.05).The experimental class was better than the control class in terms of learning interest, selection of epidemiological methods and problem analysis ability, design ability of epidemiological investigation and community communication ability(P < 0.05).
ConclusionsThe ability-oriented teaching reform can greatly improve the teaching effect of epidemiology course for the clinical medicine specialty.
