    Expression of circ_100290 in colorectal cancer and its clinical significance

    • ObjectiveTo investigate the expression level of circular RNA circ_100290 in colorectal cancer patients, and its correlation with clinicopathological features of colorectal cancer and prognosis.
      MethodsThe expression levels of circ_100290 in colorectal cancer tissue and normal tissue adjacent to cancer were detected using qRT-PCR.The relationship between circ_100290 expression level, and clinical data and case characteristics were analyzed.The correlation between circ_100290 expression level and clinical prognosis was analyzed using survival curve analysis.The Cox proportional hazard regression model was used for univariate and multivariate regression analysis.
      ResultsThe expression level of circ_100290 in colorectal cancer tissue was higher than that in normal tissue(P < 0.01), and the high expression of circ_100290 was related to the lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and TNM stage(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).The results of Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that the total mean survival time in patients with high circ_100290 expression was shorter than that in patients with low circ_100290 expression(P < 0.05).The results of univariate Cox proportional hazards regression model analysis indicated that the expression level of circ_100290, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and TNM stage were correlated with the overall survival rate of colorectal cancer patients(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).
      ConclusionsThe high expression of circ_100290 is related to the colorectal cancer metastasis and prognosis.The circ_100290 may serve as a promising biomarker in predicting the prognosis of colorectal cancer.
