ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical communication ability and self-efficacy of internship nursing students, and analyze the correlation between them.
MethodsA total of 233 internship nursing students were investigated using the general self-efficacy questionnaire and clinical communication competence scale of nursing students.
ResultsThe total average scores of the clinical communication ability and self-efficacy of nursing students were(3.28±0.29) points and(2.45±0.53) points, respectively.The self-efficacy of internship nursing students was positively correlated with the total score of clinical communication ability, establishing harmonious relationship, sensitive listening, confirming patient problems, transmitting effective information and verifying feeling(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).
ConclusionsThe clinical communication ability of internship nursing students is relatively good, the self-efficacy needs to be further improved, the clinical communication ability is positively correlated with self-efficacy of internship nursing students, and it should be paid attention to improve the self-efficacy of internship nursing students to help improving their clinical communication skills during the clinical teaching process.
