    Study on the teaching application of acid-fast staining of modified BCG sputum smear

    • ObjectiveTo compare the teaching application value between modified BCG sputum smear and Mycobacterium tuberculosis(TB) acid-fast staining test.
      MethodsThe stability and qualified rate under staining microscope of the modified BCG sputum smear, BCG sputum smear and TB sputum smear were identified.
      ResultsThe stability of modified BCG sputum smear was significantly higher than that of BCG sputum smear and TB sputum smear(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01), and the qualified rate of sampling inspection and qualified rate of experimental teaching were 100% and more than 98.8%, respectively.
      ConclusionsThe teaching of modified BCG sputum smear is simple, reliable and easy to preserve.It can be used as an important means to replace the microbiology experiment teaching.
