Effect of visual function training in the treatment of refractive amblyopia in children

    • ObjectiveTo explore the effects of visual function training in the treatment of refractive amblyopia in children.
MethodsNinety-two children with refractive amblyopia were randomly divided into the routine group(46 cases) and research group(46 cases). Two groups were treated with routine method(atropine combined with covering therapy), and the research group were additionally treated with visual function training. The visual acuity before and after treatment, and normal fusion range, normal separation fusion range, normal stereoscopic composition ratio, effects and safety after treatment were compared between two groups.
ResultsBefore treatment, the difference of the visual acuity between two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).After 6 months of treatment, the visual acuity in two groups increased significantly, and which in research group was significantly higher than that in routine group(P < 0.01).After 6 months of treatment, the normal fusion range, normal separation fusion range and normal stereoscopic vision rate in research group were significantly higher than those in routine group(P < 0.01).After 6 months of treatment, the total effective rate in research group was significantly higher than that in routine group(P < 0.01), and the difference of incidence rate adverse events between two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).
ConclusionsThe visual function training in the treatment of refractive amblyopia in children can significantly improve the vision, fusion function and stereopsis, which has good effects, and does not increase the adverse events.
