Effect of abdominal functional exercise based on stomatostomy location on the complications of enterostomy and quality of life of patients

    • Objective To investigate the effects of abdominal functional exercise based on stomatostomy location on the complications of enterostomy and quality of life of patients.
Methods Ninety-three patients treated with enterostomy were divided into the observation group(48 cases) and control group(45 cases) according to random number table method. The control group was treated with preoperative stomatostomy location and postoperative routine nursing, and the observation group was additionally treated with postoperative abdominal function exercise on the basis of routine nursing. The general condition, nursing satisfaction, postoperative complications, stoma function score(DET score) and quality of life were compared between two groups.
Results The incidence rate of postoperative complications and DET score in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group(P < 0.01).The life quality and nursing satisfaction in observation group were significantly better than those in control group(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).There was no statistical significance in postoperative hospital stay between two groups(P>0.05), but the first postoperative anal exhaust time in observation group was significantly shorter than that in control group(P < 0.01).
Conclusions The postoperative abdominal functional exercise can not only significantly reduce the incidence of complications after enterostomy and improve the quality of life of patients, but also effectively shorten the anal exhaust time and improve the satisfaction of patients for nursing work.
